Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervising Safety Assistant (approximately 50% of their work time)   

  • Industrial hygiene (IAQ, investigations, sampling, monitoring, assessments)

  • Health and safety code compliance

  • Developing and delivering EHS/Occupational Health and Safety training

  • EHS assessments/general program compliance audits

  • Regulatory/PSM compliance

  • Occupational safety surveys/inspections

  • Workstation ergonomic evaluations with support from other ergonomic staff

  • Environmental issues (air, wastewater, hazardous waste)


Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Environmental, Health, and Safety management

  • Coordinate and lead process of Workman’s Compensation, included claim filing, processing, and transporting of employees to seek medical attention

  • Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation

  • Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment 

  • Prepare applicable EHS reports as necessary

  • Advise on EHS issues to make recommendations to facility management

  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis

  • Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors

  • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training and certification programs with a safety team

  • Observe EHS regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel

  • Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies

  • Perform other work-related tasks as required and assigned

  • Comply with all Company and EHS procedures and policies


Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree or higher in EHS 

  • EMT certification preferred

  • 2 years of related experience with PSM considered a plus

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and provide proof of insurance
