Packaging Team Lead
The Packaging Team Lead is responsible for the daily operation of the packaging and assembly lines to ensure quality product is packaged according to process specifications. Experience in packaging cosmetics, toiletries and personal care products is a strong plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist Packaging/Production Manager and Assistant
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work as a team member and demonstrate leadership capabilities
To maintain safety, quality and production in accordance with current procedures, guidelines and specifications
Responsible for checking production schedule to assure correct production
Responsible for completion of daily production reports, shift logs, start-up checklists and other paperwork as required
Adjust process to ensure product is within stated specifications and quality guidelines (e.g. fill weights, labels, lot codes, etc)
Ensure correct identification, labeling and palletization of product
Validate that the manufacturing order has correct case and carton counts and configurations
Ensures that the box to be packaged is labeled appropriately in the correct sequence and palletized
Perform product and machine surveillance checks as required
Complete appropriate documentation and/or quality inspection as required
Visually inspects parts for basic defects
Reworks/sorts defective product as necessary
Responsible for process knowledge in the areas of filling, capping, labeling and torquing, assembly and other machine operation
Provides notification to production supervisory staff or maintenance technicians in the event of any machine malfunction or product defect
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner (floor should be clear of parts, trash, loose materials). Includes disposing of trash correctly
Maintain good housekeeping practices in designated areas
Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) are observed. Ensure machines are clean and free of contaminants to meet product quality requirements
Takes breaks as scheduled and punches in/out at the required times
Observe all Plant and Department Safety Rules and Regulations
Work as a Team Member and periodically serve on at least one project or Safety Team
Ensure proper line staffing for the product being run

Education & Experience:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of successful experience in manufacturing
Candidate must successfully complete the training program within the allotted time
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
Needs the ability to speak clearly so others can understand any instructions or direct commands
Ability to recognize similarities and differences between series of numbers
Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide two-digit numbers
Ability to calculate simple statistical data such as the average and range of a series of numbers
Good oral and written skills plus basic high school math
